About Blackwood BBQ

Blackwood BBQ is a chinese bbq in Schaumburg, Illinois. It is listed at 1711 E Golf Rd, Schaumburg, IL 60173, which places it among the local businesses of Schaumburg that residents and visitors turn to when they need this kind of service close by.

In cities with a Chinatown, weekend mornings bring dim sum carts or order sheets, and lines form early at the most popular spots in Schaumburg; walk-ins are standard and reservations are uncommon outside large banquet restaurants. Regional labels matter: Cantonese, Sichuan, Hunan, Shanghainese and Taiwanese kitchens cook very differently, so a restaurant's stated region is a better guide to the food than the word "Chinese" alone. Some smaller restaurants in Illinois are BYOB with no corkage fee; call ahead to confirm. A tip of 15-20% is customary for table service but not expected at counter-order takeout. Spice level, MSG and allergen questions are normal to ask before ordering, and most kitchens are happy to leave an ingredient out or tone down the heat if you mention it when ordering rather than after the food arrives.

Hours are published for 7 days a week. On most of those days it is open 11 am–9 pm. Hours in the United States do change around federal holidays and long weekends, so a quick call before a special trip is sensible. You can reach Blackwood BBQ at (630) 283-0882; calling is usually the quickest way to ask about availability, prices or directions. Its website is blackwoodbbq.com, where you may find menus, price lists or booking options.

Its Google rating is 4.2 out of 5 from 1,007 reviews, a solid but mixed picture; reading the most recent reviews will tell you what to expect.

The pulled pork was really good, so were the onion rings, but the Texas toast was flat(it’s supposed to be light and fluffy which it can’t be if it’s flat), the brisket was such a small portion which is annoying when you pay $4 extra, but that wasn’t my biggest concern. My biggest concern was that the brisket was super dry and tough. I thought I was going to break my knife. Maybe I should’ve gone up and asked for double pulled pork, but I was excited to try the brisket. The smells are amazing when you walk in the door. The service was good, the atmosphere was good, but I went that for the brisket.

There are options to either order your food at a kiosk or at a register and the food is picked up at the counter when ready. There is good variety of food options. We ordered the sampler platter which was more than enough for 2 people to share with leftovers to take home. Our favorites are the beef brisket, Brussels sprouts and the Mac n cheese. Although, we enjoyed everything on our platter! They even offer a complimentary small β€œ cobbler of the month” with your dine in experience. This was a nice addition to meal. The restaurant was moderately noisy and we needed to speak a little louder to hold a conversation, but we still enjoyed our meal.

As soon as I walked in, the place was amazing. The theme and cleanliness was at its peak! All the sauces were unique and delicious. I got the Elote Smash-burger and it was crazy good! It had a perfect amount of sauce on it and had a perfect temperature! The coleslaw was a big hit for our family! Along with Brussel Sprouts. Food came out fast! They got to start selling merch because the hats the employees had on were πŸ”₯!

Ordered takeout. Could use better packaging. By the time we got home, the bread was wet from condensation. The brisket was dry - at least it was semi-salvaged by the quite delicious Chicago sauce. Carolina egg rolls were nearly void of flavor.

My husband and I were in town for a Show Choir event and wanted to try something new. We are really picky about our BBQ since my husband took up smoking meats 6 years ago. I never find anything remotely as good as his. Blackwoods BBQ was the real deal. We ordered a sampler tray to share and it was so good! The brisket was moist and full of flavor. The pulled pork had a nice smoke flavor and needed no sauce, the smoked shredded chicken also had a great smoke flavor, the sausage was so good. I liked it best with the mustard base sauce. And that blackened half smoked chicken. Wow. Usually chicken is my least favorite, but this one was so full of flavor and juicy. No sauce needed. For sides we got Mac n cheese (hubby said was good but nothing to write home about), Cole slaw (I really liked the slaw. Especially when eaten with the pulled pork) and onion rings. They had a good flavored batter. I’d like them to have been fried a tad bit longer, but they had a beautiful golden color. They paired well with the Alabama white sauce. All was so good. We plan to make a trip up north again and try the brisket smash burger. It looked good.
